On May 10, Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, will attend the sitting of the Bureau of the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania, Sejm and Senate of the Republic of Poland.
President of the European Parliament Jerzy Buzek will attend the sitting in the European Parliament (Strasbourg).
Speaking at the sitting, the Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine incumbent President of the Assembly will report on the recent work of the Assembly, and raise the topic of cooperation between Ukraine and the European Union in the energy sector and environmental issues.
V.Lytvyn is to meet President of the European Parliament Jerzy Buzek, and take part in the trilateral consultations of the heads of parliaments of Ukraine, Poland and Lithuania.
As it was reported, Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, and Irena Degutienė, Speaker of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania, signed the letter to J.Buzek, European Parliament President, with a request to hold an extraordinary sitting of the presidium during the plenary session of Lithuania-Poland-Ukraine Parliamentary Assembly at the European Parliament in Strasbourg on May 10-12, 2011.
