On Wednesday, participants of the Commemorative Tour "Final Journey of T.H.Shevchenko" visited the city of Tver.

 

The delegation visited secondary school No. 20, having informed the pupils of primary school about the life of the prominent Ukrainian poet. Descendants of T.Shevchenko presented the collection of poems "Kobzar" to the school library. Third-grade pupils signed the copy of the book, which will be kept in the funds of T.Shevchenko museum in Kyiv after the commemorative tour finishes.

 

The school also received a film about the memorial estate of the Great Kobzar in Saint-Petersburg, which was shot under the assistance of Ukrainian representative office of CIS IPA.

 

Today the participants of the educational campaign will visit the city of Orel, and on Friday they will attend the requiem mass in the town of Hlukhiv.  

 

As reported, the tour "Final Journey of T.H.Shevchenko" dedicated to the 150th anniversary of reburial of the Great Kobzar is held in Ukraine and the Russian Federation on May 14-23. The events are organized under the patronage of the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of CIS member states.

 

The delegation of parliament members of Ukraine, Russia and Kazakhstan will follow the itinerary of the funeral procession with the body of the Great Kobzar in the year 1861.
