Mykola Tomenko, Deputy Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, believes that in the light of EURO 2012, politicians in general and communists in particular should not fight against Lviv, but control the use of budget funds targeted for the Championship. He made the foregoing statement, commenting upon the idea to relocate the final part of the football championship from Lviv to Dnipropetrovsk or Odesa.
"In this situation, any radical declarations against organization of EURO 2012 in specific cities of Ukraine are declarations against Ukraine´s image," M.Tomenko stressed.
The Deputy Chairman recommends that the politicians concerned about the national interests should not fight particular cities or the whole country, but counter corruption and misappropriation of budget funds targeted for EURO 2012.
