Commenting upon the agenda for the next plenary week, Mykola Tomenko, Deputy Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, admitted to the non-fulfillment of the Verkhovna Rada resolution and the President´s promise concerning amendments to the budget for 2011 further to the results of the first quarter of the year. The budget for 2011 includes a provision, whereby the Government shall report on the results of the first quarter of the year, and the budget should be amended in part of extra funding of social and humanitarian sectors. President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych made this statement, meeting Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Lytvyn and leaders of majority factions in March.

However, M.Tomenko stated that the Government had only managed to bring forward the draft resolution on the fundamentals of fiscal policy for 2012, while no proposals concerning amendments to the state budget were submitted.

"The more the Government tackles the issues of party and political work, as it happened with the celebration of the Victory Day, the more the general public, such as teachers, doctors, pensioners and veterans, suffer," admitted M.Tomenko. The Deputy Chairman informed that the latest meetings in the regions demonstrated the lack of financial support of education and healthcare. "There are late payments of sick leaves. Full financial support of pre-school education establishments in summer is critical. Some regions plan to close the pre-school establishments for the summer, sending the child minders on holidays without pay. Maintenance of roads and other projects are underfinanced," stated M.Tomenko.

Therefore, M.Tomenko suggested that the authorities should finish the campaign of party and ideological propaganda, and start to fulfill their socio-economic tasks.
