The meeting was held at the request of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Romania to Ukraine. The Parties discussed a wide array of issues concerning Ukrainian-Romanian cooperation.
The Committee Chairman congratulated the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary on the occasion of being appointed to this post. He underscored the importance of further development of Ukrainian-Romanian bilateral relations, and stated that Ukraine supports active inter-parliamentary cooperation.
Oleh Bilorus informed about the political situation in Ukraine and Committee´s activity. He called for boosting bilateral cooperation in the political, economic and humanitarian sectors.
Cornel Ionescu stated that Romania aimed at renewal of bilateral political and diplomatic dialogue. He mentioned support of the European prospects of Ukraine, the good neighbour policy, revival of a bilateral political inter-parliamentary dialogue, and exchange of official delegations between the deputy groups on the inter-parliamentary liaison and parliamentary committees.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Romania to Ukraine stated that Romania supports the candidacy of Ukraine for OSCE Chairmanship in the year 2013. He congratulated Ukraine on the occasion of being awarded the OSCE Chairmanship.
