On Monday, Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, held a council to discuss the procedure of adoption of the Law on Corruption Counteraction. Deputy Chairmen of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, heads of the parliamentary factions and subject committees, Head of the Central Judicial Department of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, representative of the President of Ukraine in the Parliament, deputy heads of the Administration of the President of Ukraine, and the Minister of Justice attended the council.
The Parties expressed their opinions concerning the most controversial provisions of the bill. Considering the importance and complexity of the bill, as well as a great number of amendments, the participants of the council decided to scrutinize the controversial provisions of the bill at the sittings of the Committee on fighting Organized Crime and Corruption on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine shall scrutinize the adjusted bill under the full procedure envisaged by the Standing Orders, with the scrutiny of all amendments and clause-by-clause ballot.
After the council, heads of the parliamentary factions held the meeting headed by the Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to discuss the personal vote.
