Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, believes that adoption of explicit and up-to-date law on land market is essential.

The Head of the Parliament emphasised that cancellation of the moratorium on land sale shall be preceded by the land inventory, compilation of the register of land owners and determination of its real price. It is necessary to fix the norms establishing that the land owners shall use the land for the purpose specified.

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine is convinced that the Parliament will not uphold the decision on land sale to non-residents of Ukraine.

The Parties also emphasised that Ukraine has great outlooks in global food supply. V. Lytvyn hopes that after the parliamentary hearings "Land in Ukrainian Destiny: Situation in the Land Sector, and Legislative Support of Land Relations" on March 23 the essential decision in the agricultural sector will be adopted.
