People´s Deputies of Ukraine, representatives of Ministry on Internal Affairs, Department of Motor Vehicles of Ministry on Internal Affairs of Ukraine, other ministries and departments, public organizations and citizen´s unions, leading specialists and scientists attended the meeting.
Volodymyr Stretovych, Deputy Chairman of the Committee, opened the meeting, and declared that an idea of such a round table discussion was suggested by the beekeepers last autumn. Representatives of organizations suggested regulating the issues raised during the honey yield season before the beginning of a new season. They initiated appeal to the State Department of Motor Vehicles with a request to assist the beekeepers in safe transportation of bee-families to the honey yield place.
V. Stretovych emphasised that the Committee received a response of the State Department of Motor Vehicles concerning the number of road accidents caused by the transportation of bee families. According to the Road Motor Vehicles Department report, the said accidents have not been registered during the last ten years.
The speakers deem necessary to consider human and animal safety factor in the course of bees transportation, and the parking of transport containing bee families.
The participants of the meeting emphasized that the officers of the State Department of Motor Vehicles should assist the beekeepers during the transportation of mobile beehives through highway and lay of lines.
The participants also discussed the issues concerning a single register of rolling-stock, simplification of motor vehicles registration for owners of ‘mobile beehives´, etc.
