To the Ukrainian Women
Dear Fellow Countrywomen!
Please accept my sincere greetings on the occasion of the International Women´s Day that symbolizes the advent of spring and revival of hopes.
On this day we address you with thankful hearts and words as a tribute to the grand and multi-faceted deeds of the womanhood, their essential role in all the spheres of life and throughout the history.
The crown of your glory has been formed during the centuries, as every generation contributed its colours, deeds and achievements to it.
Today the representatives of the fair sex master new kinds of activity, holding prominent places in some of them. However, the highest vocation of women does not change to be mothers, keepers of the home-fire, family concord, peace in the country and the world. Their vocation is also to reproduce the best traits and qualities in their children.
Your life and work is a precious alloy of tenderness, warmth, and charity with competence and responsibility for the present and the future. It is a pure spring of Ukrainian spirituality, an embellishment of its national character, and a guarantee of its historical prospects.
I pay court to you, and wish happiness, health, love, and respect to you and your families.
