Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, met Shorsih Khalid Saaed, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Iraq to Ukraine.

 

Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine is convinced that "partnership between our states and nations is perspective" and declared the readiness of Ukraine to implement divergent cooperation programs.

Mr. Ambassador expressed hope that the bilateral relations shall be actively developed in all the spheres, namely in economic, military-technical, power engineering, agricultural and social spheres. The Head of the Ukrainian Parliament in his turn stated that the Ukrainian Party "is ready for the efficient work."

 

The Parties also emphasized the importance of the strengthening of interparliamentary component of bilateral relations, namely exchange of parliamentary delegations and expressed for the rapid solution of organisational issues regarding work of Intergovernmental Ukrainian- Iraqi Commission on Matters of Trade, Economic, Scientific and technical Cooperation that shall facilitate specifying a date of its next sitting.

 

V. Lytvyn expressed for the strengthening of the systemic cooperation within the parliamentary level, namely on the level of the committees, friendship groups and also declared the readiness to share experience of legislative implementation of reforms.
