Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, does not consider it Necessary to address the Constitutional Court of Ukraine concerning the Date of Elections of Kyiv Mayor and Kyiv City Council.

 

"Concerning Kyiv authorities I am convinced that there is no need in numerous appeals to the Constitutional Court since there is its judgment concerning appeal of the Kyiv authorities concerning terms of their service", he stated asked by the journalists on Monday during the working visit to Zhytomyr region. The Head of the Parliament reminded that pursuant to the mentioned judgment, Kyiv city authorities shall work full term till the conduction of regular Whole-Ukrainian local elections.

 

According to him, "the state shall not be involved in non-stop election process." V. Lytvyn also mentioned that "Constitutional Court shall not be transformed into the body to regulate all the sphere of life since it is formed to verify constitutionality of Laws and decision."

 

V. Lytvyn stated that there is a political coloring in issue concerning terms of authorities in Kyiv city. "I am aware of the fact that the political coloring of this problem since there are a lot of political figures that are ready to early elections", the Head of the Parliament stated and added that if this political party "snatch a foothold titled ‘Kyiv´ it will be able to influence the whole processes in the territory of Ukraine."
