The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the Law "On Amendments to the Law "On the Proclamation of Amnesty in Ukraine"

The Law offers a new version of the Law  "On the Proclamation of Amnesty in Ukraine."

 

The Law prohibits amnesty during the inquest, pre-trial stages of proceedings and, if a criminal case undergoes judicial proceedings, but is not examined by the court; extends the register of the convicted not liable to amnesty; alters the procedure of discharging the convicted from the extra punishment.

 

In connection with the invalidation of the Law on the possible amnesty during the inquest and pre-trial stage of proceedings, the relevant amendments are introduced to clauses 44, 86 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and clause 6 of the Criminal Procedural Code of Ukraine. Furthermore, the Criminal Procedural Code of Ukraine is supplemented with a new clause 6-1 that defines the order of discharging an individual in the result of the amnesty act.
