On Thursday, Volodymyr Lytvyn,
Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, met Eynulla
Yadulla oglu Madatli, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of
the Republic of Azerbaijan to Ukraine.
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine stressed that cooperation between the Heads of States, leaders of the Parliaments, and people of Ukraine and Azerbaijan should be supported by the inter-parliamentary cooperation that lacks a systemic character.
E. Madatli underscored the essential role of the Ukrainian Parliament in the state building and development of all industrial branches. To increase the turnover between the countries, the dialogue of the People´s Deputies between the inter-parliamentary groups of friendship and the legislative bodies should be established.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Ukraine invited V.Lytvyn to make an official visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2011.
V.Lytvyn promised to support the activity of the groups of friendship that "should pave the way and reach feasible results." The groups of friendship and the committees on economy, national security, industrial policy and entrepreneurship should participate in the parliamentary decision-making and legislative work.
"The crisis demands extraordinary approaches. To avoid a deadlock,
we should communicate and seek common standpoints," the Chairman of The
Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine stated. He believes that the visit of the President
of the Republic of Azerbaijan in October 2010 was "an important chapter in the
strategic partnership." "The policy of both states meets our moods, so it is
right," he stated. "The relations should be full of specific results, not
mottos."
V.Lytvyn stressed, "Ukraine is open not only for the official dialogue; common efforts will achieve substantial results."
