At the Conciliative Council on Monday, "Our Ukraine" and "BYuT-Batkivshchyna" factions suggested listening to the report of Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Anatolii Mohyliov during the Government Question Hour on Friday. Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, made this statement at the today´s briefing. "Two factions suggested listening to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine during the Government Question Hour."
V. Lytvyn plans to inform the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on this decision today.
Asked about the demand of the opposition to listen to the report of Prosecutor-General of Ukraine Viktor Pshonka this week, V. Lytvyn responded, "Any demand or proposal should be duly carried out." Still, he suggested that the factions brought forward the respective draft resolutions. "Then we can consult the experts and calculate the required number of votes, while we have only a discussion in the form of proposals and demands", he declared.
V. Lytvyn confirmed that under the Standing Orders of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, a written inquiry shall be referred to the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine. Upon receiving the written response, the draft resolution on the report shall be passed. He announced that the respective written appeal would be referred to the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine that day.
According to V. Lytvyn, "the same concerns the Ombudsperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine: it is impossible to prepare a special report in such limited terms". He also announced that on Friday, the Ombudsperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine would present the annual report in the session hall.
