More than two thousand amendments were referrred to the draft State Budget - 2011. Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, made this statement at the briefing on Monday.

 

According to the Head of the Parliament, the committees, factions, People´s Deputies and the Government directed to the draft budget and adopted in the first reading more than two thousand amendments for the total sum of UAH 42 billion. "These amendments concern the budget expenditures", he stated. V. Lytvyn declared that the Government reserved UAH 200 million to meet the amendments.

 

"Deputies and faction leaders do not agree to the fact, and I share their point of view. However, UAH 42 billion is an unreal sum, these funds are unavailable", the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine stressed.

 

The Head of the Parliament announced that on Tuesday, December 21, the sitting of the Parliamentary Committee on Budget shall be held. He suggested that the Committee scrutinized the amendments jointly with the Government. "At 14.00 on Wednesday we should discuss these issues", he stated. V.Lytvyn also emphasised that the budget shall be scrutinized in the second reading on Thursday, December 23.
