The Committee on State Building and Local Self-Government recommends the Parliament to adopt the Draft Resolution "Ukraine. Administrative - Territorial System" in Its Entirety

The draft resolution (Reg. No7395) envisages official status for the help browser "Ukraine. Administrative - Territorial System" that is placed on the official web site of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine at the expense of funds allocated from the budget of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Secretariate for 2011.

 

New reference book specifies the Ukrainian spelling of townships in Rivne region, restores the names of the townships in Luhansk region, appoints or changes names of 576 townships. Furthermore, it was declared in the course of the discussion that in 1987 there were 30252 township in Ukraine, now the figure comprises 29801, there were 480 regions, now 490, there were 139 city of regional subordination , now 178 cities of the regional significance.

 

According to the Committee members, adoption of resolution improves the informational support of the state power bodies and local self-government, legal entities and citizens for the entire information regarding the decision on the administrative-territorial system of Ukraine and state of affairs in this sphere adopted by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and local self-government bodies.
