Ukraine and Vietnam shall open a New Page in the Bilateral Relations. It was emphasised by V. Lytvyn, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Monday delivering the speech before the teaching personnel and students of Vietnam National University and former students of the Ukrainian higher educational establishments.
"Present visit of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine delegation to Vietnam and future visit of the President of Ukraine to your state would facilitate the process", the Head of the Ukrainian Parliament is convinced.
Addressing
the former graduates of the Ukrainian universities that are working now in
Vietnam V. Lytvyn expressed gratitude to them for "warm memories about Ukraine
they managed to preserve. It is a great honor for me to be present in your
University, meet people I, probably used to study with during my students years in T. Shevchenko
University in Kyiv", the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine explained.
Volodymyr Lytvyn deems 8 thousand graduates of Ukrainian higher educational establishments that now are influential and authoritative people in Vietnam "ambassador of good will" and expressed hope that they would preserve the contacts with Ukraine and strengthening of new relations between our states "especially in the spheres defining the future of the world: high technologies and culture, first of all."
The Head of the Verkhovna Rada emphasised the development of the projects regarding atomic energy, rocket production, aircraft building, shipbuilding and cooperation in agrarian sector. "When the state invests in the worship of knowledge, it possesses great future", the Head of the Parliament stated and informed that Ukraine is interested in the intensification of the bilateral cooperation in the educational sphere. He regretted that the present connections in the sectors of culture, sport and education are of episodic character that is caused by the objective reasons first of all is geographic remoteness.
V. Lytvyn is convinced that there are no obstacles that can not be overcome to improve the situation. "Now our states are in similar situations, we are obliged to come up with time lest we are late in the world of modern technologies and rapid development , thus we shall exert efforts to receive considerable authority and confident positions in our regions", he declared.
Before the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine commenced his speech Mai Zhong Nuan, President of the Vietnam National University conferred V. Lytvyn a diploma of Honorable Doctor of the Vietnam National University.
V. Lytvyn expressed gratitude for the award and stated that "this event obliges to facilitate the common work aimed at the development of our relations."
As it was announced before, V. Lytvyn, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine is staying on December 5-10 in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Republic of Korea.
