Mykola Tomenko: Leaders of the Ministry on Internal Affairs of Ukraine should apologize for the Events on the Day of the Reunion of Ukraine
Mykola Tomenko, Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, stated that unprofessional and provisional actions of the Ministry on Internal Affairs of Ukraine on the eve of the Day of the Reunion of Ukraine and the speech of the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in the Parliament on the expected bloodshed on January 22, hampered proper organization of the Reunion Day celebration. "However, responsibility of the organizers and political parties´ leaders supported coordinated and organized festive atmosphere on all the squares", he emphasized.
According to M. Tomenko, the main problem was an attempt of the police to obstruct transportation of the citizens willing to participate in the celebrations in Kyiv.
The Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine believes that the Minister of Internal Affairs should officially apologize to the society, as his speech was an attempt to discredit not only the democratic parties, but also the whole Ukraine.
The Deputy Chairman of the Ukrainian Parliament suggested that the Ministry on Internal Affairs focused on preventing terrorist attacks that are quite frequent nowadays, not the actions and speeches against the opposition.
