Oleh Bilorus, Head of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Standing Delegation in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, takes part in the Proceedings of the Enlarged Bureau of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly in Astana (the Republic of Kazakhstan)

Participating in the general discussion, Oleh Bilorus, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee on Foreign Affairs, declared that the OSCE PA member nations "shall prevent deterioration of the role and activity of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly."

 

O.Bilorus suggested "developing a special action plan of the OSCE PA for the nearest 10-15 years to support the enhancement of the OSCE structure and role, and coordinate the activity of the Organization and its Parliamentary Assembly."

 

The Head of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Standing Delegation suggested holding the OSCE parliamentary summit on the level of the heads of the parliaments, which "may take place under the presidency of Ukraine over the OSCE in 2013."  

 

O.Bilorus also suggested developing the tool for sharing the experience of presidency with the countries-successors.  He called "for preserving and consolidating the principles and the spirit of Helsinki as the eternal European values."
