Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, deems Renovation and Intensification of the Political Dialogue within the Supreme Level one of the Fundamental Tasks of the Ukrainian-Vietnamese Relations.

 

It was declared by Volodymyr Lytvyn in the interview for the English version of Vietnamese newspaper Vietnam News, published on Tuesday. He is convinced that the strengthening of the political dialogue would facilitate the formation of the conditions necessary for the development of the entire complex of the bilateral relations.

 

The Head of the Ukrainian Parliament declared that Vietnam had always been an essential partner for Ukraine in Northern-Eastern Asia. "Our nations, despite great remoteness are combined by the friendly relations that have been formed in the former Soviet Unions. It is a strong base for the further development of the bilateral relations", he stated.

 

V. Lytvyn emphasised the important role and significance of interparliamentary relations for the entire complex of the bilateral relations. "Interparliamentary connections supplement the system of interstate relations within the level of country leaders, intergovernmental contacts in trade and economic spheres. They are of special importance in the social sphere, people´s diplomacy sector and for interhuman contacts establishing", the Head of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine emphasised.

 

According to V. Lytvyn, "our common principal aim is new quality and balance of the bilateral relations."

 

Asked regarding expectations of the Chairman of the Ukrainian Parliament regarding the meetings with Vietnamese colleagues,  V. Lytvyn declared that the planed negotiations "ascertain readiness of both parties for the constructive dialogue, discussion of fundamental directions of the mutually profitable cooperation." "Moreover, it shall become a signal for the representatives of the business circles in both states as the both countries are ready to form necessary conditions to form the necessary conditions for the intensification of the business activity", he explained.

 

Volodymyr Lytvyn is convinced that Ukraine and Vietnam possess great opportunities for the trade and economic, scientific-technical and military-technical cooperation.

 

Chairman of the Ukrainian Parliament stressed priority of trade and economic cooperation between our states and declared that searching of new means to strengthen this type of cooperation shall become the matter for serious consideration on the part of both countries.

 

He expressed for the maximal involvement of the available mechanisms for the development of such cooperation. Namely, V. Lytvyn emphasised work of the Ukrainian-Vietnamese Intergovernmental Commission on Trade-Economic and Research-Technical Cooperation, as its essential goal is implementation of the agreements reached at the negotiations.

 

Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine expressed for the implementation of the common actions concerning diversification of the bilateral trade structure stimulating the production in the spheres of machinery construction, shipbuilding, metallurgy, aircraft construction, power engineering, petrochemical industry, mineral resources mining etc.

 

Opening of direct flight connection between our states, according to V. Lytvyn, shall facilitate the development of trade and economic relations. He expressed hope that the Parties would exert efforts for the practical implementation of the Agreement of direct flight connection.

 

Furthermore, Ukraine and Vietnam are seaport countries, thus have great perspectives for the see transportations, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine declared.
