Mykola Tomenko: I am in charge of the Parliamentary Activity of the Opposition, not of the Party Activity
On Sunday, during the program "Chorne ta Bile" ("Black and White" asked by the journalists regarding) lack of coordination of his position with certain number of the party decisions, Mykola Tomenko, Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, declared that he had always tried to act like a politician, first of all, having his own vision and analysis of the situation.
M. Tomenko deems it correct have own point of view and its protection and reminded that he had some influence on the decision of party when it lacked adequacy. The Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine reminded that he managed to convince faction stop blocking parliamentary work during the opposition day. "It is two oppositions days already when we have been actively working and I appreciate the fact my point of view was correct and upheld", he added.
Though, the Deputy Chairman stated that he is not working as a party figure and emphasised that he is occupied with the parliamentary work. "I am not a party figure though everything that concerns parliamentary activity of "Batkivshchyna" and opposition in general is extremely important for me as it should be appreciated as civilized, European and democratic organization", M. Tomenko stressed. "I am ready to exert efforts for this purpose", he explained.
"I am o the opinion that the fact my views sometimes differs from that of my party has the positive impact as on the opposition as on "Batkivshchyna" party", M Tomenko stated and added that it means democracy and discussion within the party.
