The Law defines the term "baby food": "food stuffs targeted by the central executive authorities in charge of public health for special dietary nutrition, specially processed or produced to satisfy the dietary needs of infants and young children (starting infant formulas, infant feeding formulas, supplemental feeding products, drinks, bottled water for baby food or drinks."
Baby food produced in Ukraine is subject to the state sanitary-epidemiological expertise and the state registration under the Order established by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, shall meet the required rates of safety and the minimum quality specifications ratified by the central executive authority in charge of public health, and labeled in accordance with the Law of Ukraine "On the Safety and Quality of Food Stuffs" and this Law.
The Law enlists the ingredients prohibited to use in the baby food production.
