To the workers of the agriculture of Ukraine

I am glad to send my greetings to the representatives of a powerful economic sector, foundation and living source of the society.

Ukraine has always honoured its peasantry, as it not only contributes to the public prosperity. The peasants have always suffered hardships, and have successfully overcome them. They have always embodied the national values and the moral health of the nation. I make a low bow to the wisdom, patience and faith that you demonstrate, facing the challenges of the modern age.

The state is living and developing, while the peasantry lives and works. There is no alternative to this strict formula, which should be supported by pragmatic actions. It is high time we paid off the debts to the village. It is necessary to arrange favourable conditions for the fruitful work in the agricultural sector, as well as develop modern infrastructure, increase public welfare, raise the prestige of agricultural work and restore the best traditions.

I wish you to be the masters of your own land. To be hard-working, competent and efficient masters who combine their personal interests with the national concerns.

I wish you health, well-being and inspiration for your work!

Volodymyr LYTVYN
