Visit of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Delegation to Korea would strengthen the Cooperation between Two States and intensify the Business Liaisons

Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, met on Friday on Seoul in the framework of the working visit to the Republic of Korea, the Prime Minister of Korea Kim Hwang-sik.

At the beginning of the meting, Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, expressed hope that the visit of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Delegation to Korea would strengthen the cooperation between two States and intensify the business liaisons.

 

In his turn the Prime Minister of Korea emphasised that the visit of the Ukrainian parliamentarians would make great contribution in the strengthening of the connections between two states. He stated that our countries shall work efficiently to celebrate on the necessary level 20th anniversary of diplomatic relations establishment between our states that would take place in 2012.

 

V. Lytvyn emphasised absence of problems in the relations between Ukraine "taking into the consideration the fact that our positions within the international field coincide and e demonstrate mutual solidarity  and consolidation in international originations" and stressed the Ukraine highly appreciates strengthening of the bilateral relations and their strategic character.

 

"We hope that all these factors would stimulate our relations", V. Lytvyn declared and emphasised that in the course of the visit "successful negotiations and dialogues were held" within the levels of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and the National assembly. He emphasised that Ukraine expects the visit of the President of the Republic of Korea to Ukraine that would give new impulses for the relations within new quality level.

 

V. Lytvyn greeted Kim Hwang-sik, the Prime Minister of Korea, with the successful conduction of V Summit of The Group of Twenty Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors (G20) on November 11-12 in Seoul and stated that it proved the global significance of the Republic of Korea in the world.

 

Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine declared that Ukraine is seriously concerned with this situation that forms threats in the Korean peninsula and in Northern-Eastern Asia region. "With deep concern the Ukrainian parliamentarians accepted news on events of November 23. We are convinced that it is necessary to exert efforts to solve the conflict, namely it should be done with the help of the international organizations, the UN namely, though we accept peaceful means to solve the problem. "

 

In the course of the discussions of the economic partnership, the Parties declared its interest in strengthening of cooperation.

The Prime Minister stressed interest of the Korean companies in Ukrainian market and addressed V. Lytvyn as a Head of the Ukrainian Parliament with the request to render legislative assistance. "It would be quite significant is more tourists from Korea can visit our state since one of the most effective ways to strengthen the connections between he states in exchange of tourists and students", he explained.

 

Kim Hwang-sik expressed gratitude to Ukraine for attention to the problems and meeting of interests of ethnical Koreans living in Ukraine.

 

V. Lytvyn stated that the Ukrainian authorities would exert efforts to Koreans living and working in Ukraine feel themselves real citizens "as they are extremely industrious and law-abiding citizens."

 

V. Lytvyn announced that on Thursday he held the meeting with the Board of Hyundai Rotem Company and it ascertained the interests in mutual cooperation. "V. Lytvyn stated that toady there are great opportunities for the investments in its economics. According to him, there is stability in Ukraine now and within the legislative level there are all the conditions for the attraction of the investors."

 

On 5-10 December, Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, stays with an official visit in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Republic of Korea

 

Today the Ukrainian delegation returns to Kyiv.
