Mykola Tomenko: The President should respond to the Fact that the Governmental Bills drafted by the Ministry of Education gain no Support at the Parliament

At the parliamentary briefing on Friday, Mykola Tomenko, Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, focused on the situation with the work of the Ministry on Education and Science of Ukraine.

M. Tomenko reminded that the People´s Deputies addressed the President and the Prime Minister of Ukraine with several inquiries regarding a non-professional stance of the Ministry of Education and Science on a number of problems. The Deputy Chairman reminded that publication of the textbooks for the 10th grade had been suspended at fault of the Ministry. It also developed the new rules of enrollment to the higher education establishments that actually return corruption and bribery. A similar situation concerns the attempt to dismiss the personnel of the Republican Higher School of Physical Culture.

Mykola Tomenko drew attention to the lack of support of the Governmental policy on education, as the deputies rejected the respective governmental bills. Mykola Tomenko reminded that the bill on improvement of management of vocational schools, drafted by the Ministry of Science and Education and signed by Prime Minister M. Azarov, failed to receive at least one positive vote.

Mykola Tomenko is convinced that the President of Ukraine should tackle this situation, as it is not only the personnel, but also the strategic policy that should be changed.
