Mykola Tomenko: A Citizen of Nigeria, as all the Foreigners in Ukraine, has no Right to participate in Election Campaign

 

Mykola Tomenko the Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine directed the appeals to the Prosecutor´s General Office of the request to pay special attention to the illegal political activity of Sunday Adelaja, who calls himself a pastor of the religious organization "The Embassy of the Blessed Kingdom of God for All Nations" and who is a person involved in several criminal cases.

 

 

In his appeal, Mykola Tomenko announced that on 5 December of the current year, in the course of the mass in The Embassy of the Blessed Kingdom of God in Kyiv, from the open stage, Sunday Adelaja called the people to "take the power" go for the Deputies offices fo all levels and charged on of his ‘pastors´ to form the team for training of future \candidates for the deputy offices. Information was widely spread in mass media, namely one may find it in "Sehodnia" newspaper (№272 (3696) from 06.12.2010).

 

Mykola Tomenko reminded that Sunday Adelaja is a citizen of Nigeria and pursuant to the legislation of Ukraine has no right to be a candidate for the Deputies offices, become members of the political parties, and make investments in to the election funds of the candidates, parties and blocks. It is also prohibited to take part in election campaign for foreign citizens.

 

The Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine asked the Prosecutor General to find out the legitimacy of the situation and take all necessary measures.
