Mykola Tomenko, the Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine giving comments regarding the Law "On Amendments to the Laws of Ukraine "On State Budget of Ukraine for 2010" and "On Compulsory State Pension Insurance" adopted by the Parliament on Thursday, declared that the voting for this document actually endangered the supply of textbooks for students and pupils of all the educational establishments of all the levels in Ukraine.
M. Tomenko explained that as far as the amendments to the Law "On State Budget of Ukraine" in the part of the expenses reduction was conducted "due to the reduced procedure", a number of the norms envisaging the reduction of the expenses were not heard and discussed in the session hall. In particular it concerns the norm in supply of the textbooks and manuals for at the education establishments in Ukraine of all the levels.
"It is hard to imagine, how the state is going to meet the needs in the educational literature of pupils and students if the expenses on it are almost rejected", M. Tomenko emphasised. The Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine announced that he would appeal to the Government with the request to explain what funds and in what way the plan on provision with the textbooks of the educational establishments in Ukraine shall be executed.
