The Law specifies the legal status of the National Bank of Ukraine and its bodies.
In particular, the amendments were introduced to the Law "On National Bank of Ukraine" regarding the order of income division of the National Bank of Ukraine. The document implement norms concerning the defining of the income of the National Bank of Ukraine, order of its distribution, transfer of payments to the State Budget of Ukraine, compensation of the expenses of the National Bank of Ukraine. It envisages the formation by the National Bank of the general contingencies for covering of its loss. In case of the insufficiency of the funds of the general contingencies for covering of its loss, they are covered at the expense of the State Budget of the next after financial year.
For the strengthening of the guarantees of the political independence of the National Bank of Ukraine, implementation of the qualification requirement to the Board of the National bank and its members, specification of the grounds for dismissal the Law defines the requirements to the members of the National Bank Council and also grounds for the termination of their authority.
