On Tuesday, Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, met the Newly-Appointed Heads of District State Administrations of the Western Regions of Ukraine
On Tuesday, Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, met the newly-appointed heads of district state administrations of the western regions of Ukraine
who are on internship in the Institute for in-Service Training of Senior
Leaders in the National Academy of Public Administration under the Office of the
President of Ukraine.
Addressing the heads of district state administrations,
Volodymyr Lytvyn focused on the issues of local
elections and legislative regulation of their organization. He also dwelled upon the humanitarian policy, reforms of the judicial system and development of relations with Russia.
The Head of the Parliament believes that cooperation between Ukraine and Russia should be based on the European principles of international and economic relations. V.Lytvyn believes that while shaping the domestic policy, Ukraine should clearly set the list of objectives of the social-economic development and the sequence of their implementation. He supposes that "Ukraine should take advantage of the cooperation and mutual understanding established between the leaders of all authority branches to settle domestic issues and reach foreign political objectives."
Volodymyr Lytvyn was asked about the deadlines of adoption of the budget and the tax codes, possible outcome of ‘the gas agreements´ with Russia, feasibility of the administrative reform, extension of use of renewable energy sources and funding of the ‘shadow´ Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
