The draft resolution (Reg. No.5453) submitted by V.Sinchenko, People´s Deputy of Ukraine, addresses the Prosecutor General of Ukraine with the appeal to verify the resolutions on construction of the iron and steel works in Bila Tserkva district of Kyiv region as to their conformity with the effective legislation, and recommends that the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine suspends construction of the plant until the results of the verification are promulgated.
The draft resolution settles the issues in Bila Tserkva town and Bila Tserkva district due to the Euro Finance LTD iron and steel works construction. According to the explanatory note to this document, "public representatives doubt the legitimacy of this construction, in particular its conformity to the laws of Ukraine. People are also preoccupied with the possible negative consequences of enterprise functioning on the territory of Ukraine and possible damage to the environment".
Volodymyr Rybak, Chairman of the Committee, stated that it is necessary to investigate the situation thoroughly from the point of view of the governmental interests and take into the consideration the public opinion.
The People´s Deputies stated that the materials provided prove that the project documentation of iron and steel works construction envisages prevention of environmental damage.
In the result of the scrutiny, the Committee members found no reasons to uphold the draft resolution.
