The Committee on Industrial and Regulatory Policy and Entrepreneurship discussed Legislative Regulation of the Regional Development as exemplified by Slavutych Town

According to the Chairperson of the Committee Natalia Korolevska, Special Free Economic Zones are supposed to be formed on the separate territories for the specific investment projects. She emphasised that formation of free economic zones in each single case should be followed by the adoption of a relevant bill.

 

N. Korolevska is convinced that the principal task of the formation of free economic zones is the promotion of export, as within the domestic market everything shall work on the equal terms. The People´s Deputy of Ukraine predicts that under the condition of "successful combination of sale, business and science", economic efficiency of such zones shall be evident in 1-3 years.

 

The People´s Deputy believes state funds shall be spent on the purchase of domestic production.

 "In Slavutych town we saw great enterprises that are supposed to occupy a great place within the domestic market, though it is difficult for them to survive because of the imperfection of licensing system and tenders", N, Korolevska emphasised. "Hence, such enterprises should possess preferences as for the domestic producers."
