The Law defines organizational and legal principles of registration of civil status acts. It determines targets of the State registration of civil status acts, regulates the principles of conducting State register and introducing amendments and supplements to it.
The document envisages that the state registration of acts of civil status in the cases envisaged by the Law is obligatory. Data of birth of the individual, their origin, adoption, deprivation of parental care, marriage, divorce, change of name, death shall be entered on a list of the State Register of Acts of Civil Status.
The State registration of acts of civil status of the citizens of Ukraine living or temporary residing abroad is effected by the diplomatic offices and consulates of Ukraine.
A relevant bill is registered under Reg. No.2673.
