To the Personnel of Museum Institutions of Ukraine

Please accept my sincere greetings on the occasion of your occupational holiday the International Museum Day.

Ukrainian people have always treated their past with respect. Museums are greatly responsible for this piety towards the historical experience passed on from one generation to another. Museums are cultural-educational, scientific and research institutions that study, preserve and use the natural and cultural monuments, attracting the public to the national and world historical and cultural heritage. These establishments are not merely an available documental evidence of the past and keepers of it, but also the guides of the civilization experience, as well as spiritual landmarks.

Ukrainian museums preserve historical memory of our nation, and symbolize the most precious achievements of love for the native land and craving for the beauty.

Today, implementing governmental cultural policy, the museum personnel promote state building of Ukraine, arouse patriotic feelings, and consolidate principles of virtue and humanism, facilitating further success of the Ukrainian people.

On the occasion of the holiday, I wish all the best to the personnel of museum and reserves - devotees of this important and noble pursuit.
