Greetings of the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on the Occasion of the Day of Slavic Literature and Culture

Dear Fellow Citizens!

Please accept my sincere congratulations on the occasion of the holiday that symbolizes civilization triumph of Slavic culture that glorifies our national selfhood and consolidates the society.

It is a great holiday connected with the activity of prominent enlighteners, saints, equal to the apostles brothers Cyril and Methodius that bring us back to the spring of national spirit and foundation of strong national power Ukrainian written language.

Historical unconquerable Ukrainian nation, its civilizational identity was strengthened due to the written language first of all and thanks to the mother tongue that had been developed and enriched according to the common spiritual treasury of the entire Slavic world. Ukrainian literature and language became the central point, spiritual matrix of our national being. The main task of the contemporaries is to preserve integrity and purity of this essential historical event.

I am deeply convinced that protection and support of the written language and culture of all the ethnical groups living on the territory of Ukraine will help our state to enrich Ukrainian components in civilizational processes.

Saints, equal to the apostles brothers Cyril and Methodius are supposed to be immortal examples of serving to the high ideals of national integrity.

Sincerely wish you peace, wellbeing and string belief on happy civilizational mission of our Motherland.
