Draft Election Code of Ukraine was discussed by the Participants of the Round Table Discussion organized by the Committee on State Building and Local Self-Government

The draft code (Reg. No. 4234-1) was submitted by People´s Deputies Yu.Kliuchkovskyi, S.Hrynevetskyi, S.Podhorny and V.Sinchenko.   

 

According to the authors of the Bill, the Draft Election Code consists of three chapters: the general part (common provisions for all the elections); national elections (presidential and deputy); local elections.   

 

The code was drafted to "create a unified legislative base for the organization and holding of elections envisaged by the Constitution of Ukraine."

 

The draft code introduces several types of election systems for specific types of elections.

 

The attendants of the round table discussion debated the legislative regulation of the voting procedures (the form of the ballot and its completion), counting of votes, election returns, completion and specification of the voters´ lists on the basis of the State Register of Voters, stabilization of the territorial election organization, canvassing.
