The Committee on Fuel and Energy Complex, Nuclear Policy and Nuclear Safety recommends that the Parliament adopts the Bill on Amendments to the Law "On the Use of Nuclear Energy, and Nuclear Safety" (re Civil Responsibility for Nuclear Damage)

The bill (Reg. No. 3320) orders legislative definition of operator´s responsibility for the nuclear damage. The bill harmonizes responsibility established by Clause 75 of the Law "On the Use of Nuclear Energy, and Nuclear Safety" with Part 1 of Clause 6 of the Law "On Civil Responsibility for Nuclear Damage, and its Financial Coverage". Pursuant to the bill, "operator´s responsibility for the nuclear damage is restricted by a sum equal to 150 million of Special loan rights (5 million for research reactors) for every nuclear incident.
