Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine awarded to Academician Borys Paton the International Prize
"Tree of Life."
The prize was founded by the Interparliamentary Assembly of CIS state members with the support of the Federation Council of theFederal Assembly of Russia. Its prize-winners are prominent artists, scientists, men of culture, policy, sport with the active life position and who is over 80 years.
Borys Paton is the long-term chairman of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. He was born in Kiev. Paton joined the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine on November 18, 1958 and is the first person to have been awarded the title of the Hero of Ukraine. He holds a doctoral degree in technical sciences and is known for his works in electric welding.
