On Friday, Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, met Volodymyr Chepelyk, Head of the National Artists Union of Ukraine
In the course of the meeting Volodymyr Lytvyn and Volodymyr Chepelyk discussed the issues on the activity of the union and state aid to the artists. V. Chepelyk declared that due to the funding situation the National Artists Union is actually "doomed to decline."
In the course of the conversation they discussed the necessity of introducing the amendments to the number of laws regulating the relations in this sphere to strengthen the state aid to the artists unions, in particular, concerning introduction of the privileges in payment for the studios lease, public utility services and also conferment of the cultural establishment status to the artist houses and exhibition halls.
