Mykola Tomenko: The Structure of the Parliament will be finally fixed after the Local Elections

Mykola Tomenko, Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, made this statement in the television program on "Ltava" TV channel in the course of the visit to Poltava region on Monday.

Asked about the possibility of coordinating actions of the united parliamentary opposition, M. Tomenko emphasised that there was one obstacle the factor of political betrayal. "The main problem of the acting parliamentary opposition is the presence of collaboration, as it is extremely important to define when the process of legalization of direct or indirect cooperation of representatives of de jure oppositional factions with the present coalition will be completed", he declared.

M. Tomenko repeatedly made the point that he had always stood for the completion of the definite process and the Parliament with the stable coalition and opposition.

Though, commenting on the period of stabilizing the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, M. Tomenko emphasised: "Probably, the complete structure of the Parliament would become clear after the end of the local elections. Thus, according to the plans of the dignitaries, some of the influential deputies-businessmen should stay in oppositional factions to ‘help´ form the registers to the leading local councils from the oppositional parties and, according to the results of the local elections, they would form coalition-oriented groups in the system of the local self-government."
