Mykola Tomenko: During his First Hundred Days in Office, Viktor Yanukovych has been still acting as a Leader of the Party, not the State
"The main conclusion of the first hundred days of Viktor Yanukovych in office is that he has acted as primarily the President of the south-eastern Ukraine, the President of the Russian-speaking Ukraine, and the President of the Party of Regions, the Communist Party and the Lytvyn Bloc", Mykola Tomenko, Deputy Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, stated.
Mykola Tomenko believes that this strategy is wrong. "It aggravates regional and value split in Ukraine", the Deputy Chairman stressed. "Its main defect is that all actions are aimed at further discord and confrontation in Ukraine instead of its integration", he stated.
However, M.Tomenko stated that the electors who supported V.Yanukovych "are obviously satisfied with his activity." Thus, he supposes that the first hundred days of office of the new President should be considered as a national or regional holiday. "The local officials are said to celebrate this holiday, however, this is not a date to celebrate, but a date to make Viktor Yanukovych analyze his mistakes and start his work as the President of the whole country", M.Tomenko stated.
"Summing up, during his first hundred days in office, Viktor Yanukovych has been still acting as a leader of the party, not the State", the Deputy Chairman stated.
