The meeting was held at the request of the Moldavian party.
The participants of the meeting discussed the issues concerning cooperation between Ukraine and Moldova, renewal of meetings on the parliamentary level, settlement of the pressing matters of bilateral relations.
The attendants focused attention on the issues of the Transnistrian conflict. Mr Osipov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova, called for boosting efforts in 5+2 format, as Ukraine has a constructive approach to this issue. Mr Bilorus, Committee Chairman, stressed the permanence of the standpoint of Ukrainian authorities as to sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Moldova.
Asked by the rumours spread in the Ukrainian mass media concerning ‘secret agreements´ between the Presidents of Ukraine and Russia about the distribution of spheres of influence in Transdniestria and Moldova, Mr Bilorus stressed that he had always defended sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Moldova at all the international levels, including the OSCE. The Committee Chairman stated that "the statements in certain mass media and those made by the representatives of the President´s Administration are farfetched and look like a deliberate provocation; the Committee on Foreign Affairs has filed corresponding appeals to The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and mass media."
The parties also discussed possible ways of cooperation in the approval of anti-, and post-recessionary means during the economic crisis.
