On Tuesday, Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, met the Delegation of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

V. Lytvyn stated that Ukraine highly evaluates the development of the bilateral cooperation and called for the strengthening of the political contacts between our states on the highest level and on the parliamentary one.

The Head of the Parliament also emphasised that Ukraine pays special attention to the chairmanship of Vietnam in the Association of the Southern-Eastern Asia States and "good cooperation" between Ukraine and Vietnam in different international organizations.

 

In his turn, Hoang Binh Quan, Head of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee's External Affairs Commission has also highly evaluated the opinion of V. Lytvyn regarding the necessity of strengthening the Ukrainian-Vietnamese relations.

 

Hoang Binh Quan invited the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to make an official visit to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

 

Hoang Binh Quan stated that his state is interested in the development of the bilateral cooperation in the economic, scientific-technical, military-industrial, agricultural and tourist spheres. According to him, Vietnam is also interested in the development of parliamentarism in Ukraine.

 

V. Lytvyn stated that further development of cooperation in these spheres is prospective, and called for strengthening the cooperation in the spheres of academic science, culture and student exchange.

 

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine accepted the invitation to make a visit to Vietnam and called for the development of interparliamentary relations on the level of committees, factions and secretariats of the legislative bodies in both countries.
