"With the adoption of the Law of Ukraine "On State Budget of Ukraine 2010" the state lost hope for the strengthening of the scientific sphere, its influence on the development of the state and innovations introduction", Volodymyr Polokhalo, the Chairman of the Committee on Science and Education declared during his speech on Common Meeting of the National Academy of Science of Ukraine on 13 May 2010.
Volodymyr Polokhalo stated that the budget indexes this year do not correspond the proclaimed by the government promises to strengthen the scientific-technical and innovational development of the economy."
The Chairman of the Committee criticized the thesis of M. Azarov, the Prime Minister of Ukraine, who delivered a speech on the Common Meeting of the National Academy of Science of Ukraine on 13 May 2010 regarding the fact that "the state financing of the science would be held only according to the economic growth of the state and what concerning the business, he stated that the scientists are supposed to persuade him that it (business) sees perspectives and profit from the implementation of the scientific projects."
The People´s Deputy also emphasised that as the Law of the State Budget of Ukraine proves, the Government reducing expenses on the financing of the fundamental investigations, higher education, ate the same time increased the expenses in the framework of the numerous scientific-technical investigations of the Ministries and Departments that remain actually without the control that enables free plundering of the state funds through the corruption schemes.
Such attitude toward the role of the science and innovations, according to the Chairman fo the Committee, would lead to the economic decline instead of its flourishing.
