On Thursday, in the course of the briefing of the opposition representatives, evaluating the signing of the treaties between the Presidents of Ukraine and Russian Federation, in particular, the prolongation of the Russian Fleet dislocation in Crimea for 25 years more, Mykola Tomenko, the Deputy chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine declared that for him as for historian the historic analogies are quite interesting. "This Pact of Yanukovych-Medvedev" was signed in the period between the birthdays of Hitler and Lenin and on the eve of the destruction day of Zaporizka Sich that stopped the development of the Ukrainian sovereignty for the long period", he stated.
"Hence our task, I mean opposition, and Ukrainian citizens not let the betrayal of the Ukrainian interests be presented as "happiness" for both nations, as the idea of the common tasks of the State Duma and the Verkhovna Rada were planned exactly as the show of both parliaments, that not only ratify but celebrate such betrayal of the national interests. Wee will make everything possible in order to stop the ratification of these documents on Tuesday", M. Tomenko emphasised.
M. Tomenko also emphasised that opposition is supposed to stop "political fighting" and think about the protection of Ukraine and its national interests now.
