Volodymyr Lytvyn, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine met with Miroslav Lajčák, Foreign Minister of the Slovak Republic.
In the course of the meeting the Parties express content with the high level of the bilateral Ukrainian-Slovak relations and their interparliamentary part and expressed for the further intensification and development of the bilateral relations, emphasising the essential role of the Parliament in this process.
Volodymyr
Lytvyn and Miroslav Lajčák
expressed the thought that there are all grounds to intensify the cooperation in economic and humanities spheres,
activation of the frontier cooperation.
The Head of the Ukrainian Parliament expressed for the search of new direction of the bilateral cooperation. In particular V. Lytvyn deems it perspective to cooperate with Slovak in power economy sphere and investigation of the alternative energy sources.
V. Lytvyn stated that our countries have great capacity of the interparliamentary cooperation, in particular on the levels of committees, friendship groups and invited the Delegation of the Parliament of the Slovak Republic to visit Ukraine after the Parliamentary elections in the Slovak republic that will be held in June 2010.
M. Lajčák announced on the preparation of the official visit to Ukraine of the President of Slovak republic.
V. Lytvyn and M. Lajčák paid special attention to the issue on European integration purposes of Ukraine. The Minister of Foreign Affairs stated in particular that the Slovak Republic is eager to assist Ukraine in her aims and will share its experience with Ukraine.
M. Lajčák
also declared that the Slovak Republic upholds the visa free regime between Ukraine
and EU.
V. Lytvyn in his turn expressed gratitude to the Minister for the position of the Slovak Party.
