"We do not exchange Principles and Values for the Offices", Mykola Tomenko, the Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine declared during the briefing in the Parliament, giving answers to the questions of the journalists regarding the issue on the office of the Chairman of the Committee on Freedom of Speech and Information, taking into the consideration the propositions of the Party of Regions to exchange the committees.
"We consider the main principles of the work organization of the supreme legislative body. These principles are defined by the Law and there is a question: either the dignitaries are ready to work in the format of the influential and active opposition or they are not interesting in the existence of such coalition", he emphasised.
M. Tomenko stated that for the opposition it is important now to provide the obedience of the legislation: it is being on a par with the coalition thus there are no grounds to discuss the issue how to exchange the positions.
