Mykola Tomenko: Viktor Yanukovych Surroundings is making out of Him the President of the 'Russian-Speaking Ukraine'

Mykola Tomenko, Deputy Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, stays with a Working Visit in Ternopil Region. In the course of the meetings in Ternopil, M. Tomenko pointed out the attention to the fact that the actions and initiatives of the new dignitaries proves that certain part of Viktor Yanukovych surroundings is actively trying to make of him the President of the ‘Russian-Speaking Ukraine.´

 

"Despite all the hopes of Ukrainian society regarding the fact that the Ukrainian power would commence the consequent and principal fighting against corruption and bribery and would suggest real directions of the economic renaissance and wellbeing increase for the citizens, everyday they speak on the problem of priorities of national minorities and their rights protection in Ukraine", M. Tomenko emphasised.

 

M. Tomenko also declared that the preliminary analysis of the personnel appointments proves that "leading offices of the state are occupied by the citizens have no knowledge of their own native Ukrainian language, history, traditions and in particular cases even do not have the Ukrainian citizenship."

 

According to the Deputy Chairman it is necessary to mention that initiating dozens of bills regarding the support of the Russian language, divergent initiatives regarding the mythology of Soviet history and other ideas of ingratiation toward the Russian Federation gain vast forms thus Ukrainian dignitaries became even bigger Russian patriots than leaders of the Russian Federation.

 

"At the same time, Russian diplomats fell change of the strategic line in the present Ukraine and give joyful comments that "Now in Ukraine is better than used to be", the Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine stated."

 

"If the tendency is preserved, the euphoria from the expectations regarding the new President will disappear soon, as we need a President that is able to unite the whole country and not only its Russian speaking part", M. Tomenko stated.
