Mykola Tomenko, the Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Wednesday took part in the singing festival on the occasion of 171st anniversary of Pavlo Chubynsky, the national anthem of Ukraine author, birth that was held in Boryspil town.
In his speech, M. Tomenko emphasized that in the course of the last years the local authorities headed by Anatoliy Fedorchuk gave an example of the revival of historical memory of our fellow countrymen.
Speaking on the necessity to "alter the theoretical patriotism on patriotic deeds", M. Tomenko stated that during the last years Boryspil authorities managed to build the open and democratic telecommunications system with the territorial community, implement number of the projects on reformation of the local self-government and also made great contribution to the revival and honoring of the region historical memory. The Deputy Chairman has highly appreciated the projects being implemented in Boryspil town.
M. Tomenko also presented the "Fair Ukraine" Fund social projects and discs "The Main Songs and Melodies of Ukraine", "Ukrainian Classical Literature. Living Voices" and "Swans of Motherhood: Living Voice of Vasyl Symonenko" for the educational work in schools and also "Audio course for the Ukrainian Children" for the nursery schools of the town.
