Thus, the Law "On Amendments to Items 14 and 15 of Chapter X "Transitional Provisions" of the Land Code of Ukraine regarding Period of Land Plots Sale" (Reg. No. 3425) came into force. The Law prolongs the moratorium on alienation of agricultural land till the year 2012.
The President of Ukraine signed the Law "On Amendments to the Law of Ukraine "On the State Support of Agriculture of Ukraine" (Reg. No. 2375). The Law enhances the State price regulation of agricultural produce market, insurance of agricultural production risks, and implementation of actions related to restoration of cattle breeding and realization of social programs in the rural area.
The Law "On Amendments to certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine regarding the Agricultural Sector Assistance under the Conditions of the Global Financial Crisis" (Reg. No. 5416) regulates governmental support of the agricultural sector under the conditions of the global financial crisis.
The Law "On Amendments to Paragraph 1 Chapter XI of the Final Provisions of the Law "On Safety and Quality of Foodstuffs" (re Sale of Home Made Production at the Agricultural Markets and Homestead Butchering) (Reg. No. 5053-1) prolongs the right of the agricultural producers to sell home made production and homestead butchering at the agricultural markets for five years.
The Committee scrutinized 152 topical matters, including 121 Bills. The parliamentary hearings "Current State and Prospects of Development of Agricultural Sector and Food Industry of Ukraine" were organized. The Committee held 13 meetings, including 5 exit meetings. The Committee held a joint exit meeting with the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine and the Presidium of the Ukrainian Academy of Agrarian Sciences on the topic "Enhancement of Competitive Ability of the Agricultural Sector of Ukraine as exemplified by the Innovation and Investment Projects at the Agricultural Enterprises of Donetsk Region" (Donetsk, 28 October 2009).
