Mykola Tomenko: Cherkasy Regional Hospital of War Veterans will be under Protection of the Local Authorities

 

In Friday afternoon, Mykola Tomenko, Deputy Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, visited Cherkasy Regional Hospital for the Veterans of Great Patriotic War.

 

Mykola Tomenko highly appreciated activity of Cherkasy regional council and local self-government bodies that determined health protection as one of the priority areas of their work.   "In fact, actual positive changes in Cherkasy health protection system were launched in 2006-2010, starting from the refurbishment and re-equipment of medical establishments and finishing with the purchase of diagnostic equipment and improvement of medical treatment conditions", - he stated.   

 

As the Deputy Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, M.Tomenko is concerned with this aspect in the Parliament. He supported the motion of Cherkasy region and convinced the Government to transfer the entire property complex of the hospital into the municipal ownership of Cherkasy region. He reminded that the region had for the first time expressed this request as early as in 2001. It was only in 2010 that this issue was settled by common efforts. Pursuant to the Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, the entire leased property complex was transferred into the municipal ownership of territorial communities of Cherkasy region, alienation, lease, concession and mortgage being prohibited.    

 

During the visit to Cherkasy region, Mykola Tomenko is going to visit the room museum of Vasyl Symonenko in the editorial office of Cherkaskyi Krai newspaper, where the prominent Ukrainian figure started his career. Mykola Tomenko will present the museum with the mini system and CD "Swans of Motherhood. Vasyl Symonenko Live". The Deputy Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine is also going to meet the journalists and appear in the program of Ros Regional TRBC.
